    First Kia cee´d cars roll off Slovakia production line
    The first Kia cee´d family cars destined for customers in Europe, have began to roll off the production line at Kia´s all-new manufacturing facility in Zilina, Slovakia. To mark this historic moment in Kia´s development, the first cars were given a ceremonial ´send-off´ today (Thursday) by Mr Euisun Chung (Kia Motors Corporation President and CEO) and Mr Jan Slota (Mayor of Zilina). They were assisted in this task by an enthusiastic audience of Kia employees, specially invited VIPs and Mr John Humphrey (Senior Vice President Inter-national Operations) of the global automotive quality monitors JD Power & Associates.   Read more

    KIA´s EUROPEAN SALES SET NEW RECORD IN OCTOBER
    Sales of Kia vehicles in Europe climbed again during October, achieving a new record for the month - up by 11% to a total of 23,252 units. Kia´s top sellers were the Picanto small car (with 6,489 sales), leading the award-winning Sorento 4x4 SUV (3,626 sales) and the Sportage compact 4x4 (3,476 sales). Germany was the biggest market for Kia with more than 3,800 vehicles delivered, 40% more than the year-ago month.   Read more

    Spanish tennis sensation Rafael Nadal to become global brand ambassador for Kia Motors
    Kia Motors announced today that it has reached an agreement with tennis sensation Rafael Nadal in which the young Spaniard will act as a global brand ambassador for the Korean carmaker.     Top auto industry designer to spearhead Kia Motors´ global design initiatives
    Kia Motors Corporation announced today that it has appointed leading automotive industry designer Peter Schreyer, who designed world renown "cult" cars like the New Beetle and the Audi TT, to the newly created position of Chief Design Officer. Mr. Schreyer´s appointment will complement Kia´s significantly increasing emphasis on automobile design and support the ongoing regeneration of its model range.   Read more

    KIA DELIVERS ALMOST 22,000 VEHICLES IN APRIL
    In line with Kia´s 2006 business and product plans, vehicle sales in Europe during April maintained the extraordinary levels achieved in April 2005, which were a remarkable 78% up on 2004, and gained an additional 1% to total 21,822 units. For the month of April, Kia´s top sellers were the Pi-canto small car (with 7,103 sales), leading the award-winning Sorento SUV (3,439 sales), the New Rio B-segment hatchback (2,787 sales) and the Sportage compact 4x4 (2,772 sales).   Read more

    KIA SALES REACH 65,000 UNITS IN FIRST QUARTER
    During the first quarter of 2006, European Kia dealers delivered a total of 65,179 units, to record a solid 3% gain over 2005, in line with Kia´s business and product plans for 2006, a year the company views as a period of consolidation. Picanto sales (19,566 units) led from Sorento (10,721), Sportage (9,468), Rio (8,301) and Cerato (5,473) - to complete Kia´s Top5 sellers table for the quarter.   Read more

    DECEMBER SALES SET NEW MONTHLY RECORD
    In Europe, Kia sales during December set a new record for that month, reaching a total of 23,700 u-nits, 24% higher than the brand achieved for that period in 2004 - even before the all-new petrol and diesel engined Magentis D-segment sedan models reached the marketplace. For the final month of 2005, Kia´s top selling models were the Picanto (6,979 sales), heading the Sorento (4,331 sales), the Sportage and the New Rio, performing strongly in fourth place, now the remarkable 1.5 diesel-powered versions are widely available.   Read more
