    20,000 entrants for first-ever Kia cee’d competition
    Kia Motors Europe recently hosted the grand final of its first-ever pan-European promotional competition - the "cee´d European Test Drive Challenge" - at the Hockenheim racing circuit in Germany. The one-day grand final was attended by 70 participants from 21 countries. Finalists spent the morning familiarising themselves with the performance and handling of the Kia cee´d and receiving a safer driving course from professional instructors.   Read more

    Royal College of Art honours Kia design chief Peter Schreyer
    The UK´s prestigious Royal College of Art has awarded Kia Motors Chief Design Officer, Peter Schreyer, an Honorary Doctorate in recognition of his contribution to automotive design. The annual awards ceremony was held in the famous Royal Albert Hall, London, on Friday 29 June.   Read more

    Grand Opening Ceremony for Kia´s Slovakia plant
    To officially mark the creation of its first-ever assembly plant in Europe, Kia Motors Corporation hosted a ´Grand Opening Ceremony´ today at its Zilina facility in Slovakia. Before an invited audience of 1,500 VIPs and guests, Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group Chairman and CEO Mong-Koo Chung, together with Slovakia Prime Minister Robert Fico and Mayor of Zilina Ivan Harman, held a tape-cutting ceremony and declared the plant officially ´open´.     Kia earns a top place in major car reliability survey
    Kia vehicles have won a top place in one of the world´s biggest surveys investigating the reliability of more than 450,000 cars aged from three to nine years old. More than 82% of the owners of Kia vehicles surveyed reported no mechanical failures of any type.   Read more

    Kia ends 2006 strongly, set for renewed 2007 sales boom
    Kia Motors Europe ended 2006 strongly with a grand total of 271,261 vehicles delivered, just 2% down on 2005, despite concentrating last year on the launch of six new models and on preparations for the introduction of the all-new Kia cee´d in December.   Read more
