BackKia challenges Facebook users to demonstrate their mighty roar

The new Kia Picanto’s light-hearted “Small but Mighty” advertising campaign, which was launched across a number of media platforms in May, is now gaining an interactive edge with the introduction of a new Facebook application (‘app’).
Following in the paw prints of Henry – the small but mighty cat from the Picanto TV commercial, whose surprisingly mighty roar makes his canine adversary retreat in fear – visitors to Kia’s Facebook page will be able to test the mightiness of their “roar” against the new ‘Roaar-O-Meter’ app. Accompanying their score will be a pre-recorded, real sound clip matching the intensity of their voice, which could be anything from the delicate meow of a kitten to the potent roar of a fully-grown, adult lion.

The application records audio and video input, and allows users to post their scores on their national Kia Facebook page so that they can compete with other Picanto fans in their country.
The Small but Mighty campaign highlights the complete transformation the Kia Picanto small car has undergone and the ‘grown-up’ features it now offers. It is designed to alert new and prospective customers – progressive, modern, mainstream car buyers – to the enhanced appeal of the second-generation Picanto.
Co-starring with Picanto in the new campaign is Henry – a ‘small but mighty’ kitten. Henry’s inquisitive nature and remarkable agility are used to demonstrate the new Picanto’s attributes in TV commercials, on-line communications and print media.
