BackConvenience Features
High-specification, easy-to-use, equipment
Although both the Cerato hatchback and sedan interiors focus on delivering smooth functionality and efficient ergonomics for a relaxing driving experience, they are also generously equipped with a full range of convenience features. Kia has a reputation for packing a lot of car into a price range, and the Cerato takes that tradition a stage further to provide customers with excellent value for money in a thoroughly modern car.
A strong motivation behind the interior design is ease-of-use, so that the driver can operate all the systems simply and quickly with least possible distraction from the road ahead. The stylish centre fascia houses equipment in logical, horizontal layers, with the digital clock, twin flush-shutting air-vents, the audio system and the heating and ventilation controls, stacked neatly for an elegant appearance, and within easy reach of the driver´s hand. A choice of specification for the audio system and heating system is offered, depending on model.
The Cerato´s audio system offers customers a wide choice of units, depending on model, country and customer personal preference. Top quality sound is broadcast through a system with up to six-speakers. Four two-way speakers and two tweeters are mounted in the front doors and in the rear parcel shelf. The six-speakers system is tuned to compliment the interior acoustics of the vehicle and to deliver accurate sound reproduction throughout the tonal range for the best possible audio performance.
The Cerato´s manual temperature control system has a trio of large rotary dials that govern temperature, airflow direction and fan speed. Two upgrades are available, offering manual air conditioning or fully automatic climate control.
The manual air conditioner is activated by a simple soft-touch button incorporated into the air flow direction dial. On models with the fully automatic temperature control system, rotary dials for temperature and fan-speed flank an LCD which displays all aspects of the selected environment, graphically illustrating air-flow direction, fan speed, inside and outside temperatures. Although it allows manual control, this system also allows "set and forget" temperature selection accurate to 0.5 Celsius.
A germ-proof filter in Kia´s air quality system (AQS), blocks out dust and pollen as well as filtering microbes and unpleasant smells, and compliments the air conditioning system.
As well as providing a spacious cabin for occupants to relax in, the Cerato has numerous storage zones to accommodate a wide variety of items. A two-level centre console sits between the front seats, providing storage for CDs and other travel essentials, while twin cup holders are mounted alongside the hand-brake lever. This console also houses twin cup holders in its trailing edge for rear-seat occupants.
The two front doors contain hard-case pockets for maps and books, and space for a drinks bottle. The large glove box is illuminated. There is a small, but convenient multi-purpose tray below the steering wheel and another tray in the floor console ahead of the gear selector, which houses a 12-volt power outlet. Both front seats have seat back pockets for storing books and magazines.
Please note that technical and equipment specifications, as well as options availability for the Cerato LX and EX five-door and four-door models may vary country by country. Please check with your local Kia Distributor for final details and prices.
